Hey hey, ya'll! I've been a little absent the past week or so, with factions and drum roll please.....I GOT ENGAGED!! Whoop!! Couldn't be happier!! More about that in another post!! This post is about my friend, Emily! She was gracious enough to let me take photos of her for my portfolio, without any question (well except when I tried to get her in a wedding gown hahaha). The shoot was so much fun, and although she was nervous, the butterflies floated away almost immediately. I cannot wait for her to model for me, although she doesn't believe me, she is a natural. Enjoy!!
So! On the way back from the "red" shoot with Jay, we passed by The Brig (this outdoor beer garden). As we were walking by, a man asked if I was taking pictures if I could take pictures of him. Sounds creepy at first, but then he explained how he is going to playing/singing at The Brig in about 5 minutes. Ah, makes sense now, right?! So, being the nice person I am, I said yes. Let's just say...his music is beautiful, and he even makes the ABC's sound good! Special shout out to Jay for helping with the poses! Enjoy the pictures below and make sure to check out his music on iTunes and through his website: http://www.torreyb.com
I had my first intermediate photography class which was gifted to me from my boyfriend last week! My first assignment was the color red and the focus of composition. So...I immediately contacted my good friend Jay and asked him to be my model. Of course, he was willing to help! So he pulled out his red suit jacket and we headed to Eastern Market in DC (Capitol Hill, whatever you want to call it). Take a look!
So! I am a part of this amazing tribe that involves, lots of dancing, sweat, love, and amazing people. There I met Francesca and Phylicia. I was throwing out the ideas of a photoshoot in DC to Francesca, and she was immediately on board, and soon asked her friend Phylicia. With some scheduling and Facebook messaging we were able to solidify a date. We met up at about 5:00pm last Wednesday and you could feel the energy between the three of us immediately! We were so pumped for this shoot it was unreal, so that even when it started to rain, we still had hope and KNEW it was going to happen! Before heading to the Ivy City spot we were shooting at, we made a quick pit stop at Blind Whino. THIS PLACE IS AMAZINGGGGGGG. I can't wait to go to an event there in the future (thank you cheska!). As soon as we exited Blind Whino, the sun was shining! It was too perfect. We headed over to Ivy City and started shooting! We were able to get some amazing shots and had the perfect weather/lighting (in my opinion). I hope you enjoy the pictures and a special thank you to Francesca and Phylicia for trusting my creativity and going with the flow.
Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph my friend's son, Carter. We started in his room (filled with a race car bed and all the toy trucks in the world). He also had this super amazing tent, IN HIS ROOM! So we started with the tent. He was watching videos on his iPad, so he wasn't too attentive, which was okay! His parents were hilarious, and were in and out making sure everything was okay. I snagged a few good shots from the tent and then we moved on to the living room. Carter played with his toy cars and I crawled all over the floor with him. Lastly, we went outside. Luckily, it had just rained, and there...were...PUDDLES GALORE. One look at the puddles and Carter was sold. I watched as he went to the middle of the road...yelled something that sounded like "bellyflop," and jumped in the puddle. I nervously looked at his parents (he had what looked like new clothes on), and once I got the okay, started snapping away. Needless to say, we ended the shoot with some fun puddle jumping. Enjoy the joy.
Today I had an impromptu photoshoot with my friends daughter. She was nervous at first but quickly warmed up and told me she was having fun! She's an amazing model and we both had a great time! Here are some of the portraits...
Well hello! On Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph my talented friend Jay! With multiple wardrobe changes and multiple locations, we had a blast! We even finished the shoot off with some gelato! (well deserved) The lighting was perfect, the people walking around and complimenting Jay's poses/suit were perfect, and our energy together was perfect! Such an amazing shoot with so many amazing photos. So excited to see what is in store for me next...
Thank you Jay for allowing me to run you all around Old Town and for the tips and tricks. Also, than you for the continuing support. You are truly a blessing!
Hello everyone! Last week I had the amazing opportunity to present with some amazing women at the Council for Exceptional Children conference in Boston! I had never been to Boston, and although I was nervous, I had an amazing time! Here are some pictures from exploring!
